Rustic in the Coutryside
Padova, Italy
The project involves the renovation of a rural building dating back to the Napoleonic era. The rustic building with exposed brickwork is redesigned to accommodate three residential units.
The different dwellings are independent of each other but dialogue with the pre-existing building by integrating the existing structure with the new requirements.
The design approach envisages the preservation of the external façades bringing them back to compositional clarity, emphasising the existing arches through minimal window frames.
Through the large openings the dialogue with the context remains constant, as if to indicate a continuity between inside and outside.
In the large park surrounding the house there is an infinity pool that emphasises the building through its water mirror.
