Barcelona – Architecture Studio Session | #05 - Batlleiroig

The Architecture Studio Sessions is a captivating series of ten events that is part of the official UNESCO-UIA World Capital of Architecture 2026 program in Barcelona.

Curated and coordinated by Miriam Giordano, Gaia Pellegrini, and John Hill, leading architecture studios will open their doors to share their workspaces, philosophies, and creative processes across ten engaging sessions. Each event combines architecture with music, featuring playlists curated by the architects themselves to foster connection among all participants in an open cultural format.

Organized by World-Architects and generously sponsored by Laufen, Roca, and Simon, in collaboration with Labóh and L35, the Architecture Studio Sessions promise to be an unforgettable journey of discovery through Barcelona's vibrant architectural landscape.

The studio
Batlleiroig is a multidisciplinary office based in Barcelona that combines the practice of Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Architecture. Founded in 1981 by Enric Batlle and Joan Roig, it is made up of nearly 180 professionals from different disciplines. Committed to the environment and engaged in the search for solutions to address our planet’s climate emergency, at Batlleiroig we have been speaking about Landscape and Nature since our foundation.

The space
Batlleiroig’s headquarters in Barcelona, located in Esplugues de Llobregat, comprises several buildings, forming a complex that embodies over forty years of architectural experience and the studio’s design philosophy. It includes Casa Moratiel, designed by Josep Maria Sostres in 1955 and later restored by Batlleiroig; on the same site, the MF15 office building, which harmoniously integrates and respects Sostres’ original design; and the recently inaugurated MF01 wooden building, distinguished by its outdoor spaces, its close connection with nature, and its commitment to sustainability.
