T House
T House
This is a private residence planned for Wakayama City, facing a road to the north-east.
Designed as a home for a single occupant, the main living areas are concentrated on the first floor, whilst the ground floor comprises an entrance hall, a generous storage area, a bathroom with washbasin, and a utility room.
Along the roadside on the ground floor, space for two cars has been provided next to the approach; proceeding along the slightly recessed path from the road leads to the entrance hall.
Climbing the staircase within the bright, open-plan space that connects the entrance hall to the first floor leads to a spacious living area featuring large glass openings.
The first floor comprises this living area, a bedroom, a kitchen and two terraces.
The terrace opening onto the south-west is adjacent to the living area, whilst the terrace enclosed by the north-east external wall faces the bedroom and kitchen.
Transom openings are provided between the light roof covering the first floor and the walls, allowing the ever-changing light and breeze throughout the day to flow into the interior spaces.
With its gentle, bright spaces and bedrooms opening onto enclosed terraces, this house offers a sense of liberation for both body and mind, allowing residents to enjoy the rich sensations brought by light and wind whilst ensuring safety.
