Igarashi Design Studio / Hisae Igarashi

Developed in collaboration with Akita Wood Works, Japan’s only furniture workshop specializing in three-dimensional curved wood technology since 1910. We pursued practicality and design to make the product more in tune with the compact lifestyle of modern people. The gentle curves of the curved wood are designed not only to create soft air in the room, but also to reduce weight and provide comfortable seating. Local timber from the Tohoku region was utilized, and colors were selected from traditional Japanese colors.
