“A Four-Generation Home for Generations to Come”
This four-generation home is located behind the National Noh Theatre in Sendagaya. The residents are the client couple, their father, their sister's family, and their daughter. Previously, each generation lived separately in their own homes. With the father now elderly, the clients desired a home where all four generations could live together.

Therefore, we planned a home designed to be passed down through generations for the long term. The structural form was kept simple to facilitate future interior modifications. To the north of the site, across the road, lies the park behind the Noh Theater. The layout was planned so that each room could enjoy the park's greenery.

The roof of the National Noh Theater employs a dry-laid aluminum louver system, with water flowing onto the concrete roof beneath the louvers. This construction method has preserved the roof's beauty over many years. We adopted this approach, combining dry-laid brickwork with exterior insulation.
