The Humboldt Forum in Berlin is regarded as Germany’s most significant cultural construction project in the coming decades. Due to the collection of the “Staatliche Museen zu Berlin” (SMB) moving there from Berlin-Dahlem, the main part of the building will be used as a museum. The daylight illumination, which exists in the historical context, has to be adapted to today's strict conservation requirements and structural demands. This entailed a variety of formative and technical studies on glazing as well as on solar arrangements and glare protection systems. The staging of the exhibited art occurs, primarily, through emitters which must guarantee a minimum energy entry.
