«Silhouette with city balcony»
Two tall residential towers and a low handball arena form a distinctive urban silhouette at Kriens railway station. While the 50-metre-high residential tower on Mattenplatz relates to the adjacent towers, the 110-metre-high residential tower on Bahnhofplatz is oriented towards Lucerne's Allmend.

The tower on Mattenplatz contains rental apartments, while the tower on Bahnhofplatz contains small ‘Movement’ apartments and large freehold apartments. The polygonal outlines give the buildings a slender appearance and create meaningful spatial references to their context. Inside, the polygonal shape appears in the day areas, while the individual rooms are orthogonal and can be furnished in a variety of ways.

The elevated foyer of the arena appears as a glazed city balcony, which floats above the base and offers a view of the promenade and the neighbourhood. The glazing is finely structured vertically and gives the arena a lantern-like appearance. The residential towers are given an appropriate architectural appearance by the two-storey structure and rhythmisation with pillars, cornices and wall surfaces.

While the arena and residential tower at Mattenplatz have been completed and handed over to the clients, the taller tower is expected to be completed in autumn 2026.
