Atelier Deshaus values design practice, in which it intentionally maintains a sensitivity toward extensive cultural meanings that are related to architecture as well as a recognition of its own identity. Its projects pursuit integrity and the control of detail qualities. Through such integrity, relations between modern mentality and contemporary society, economy and cultural environment that are rooted in regional traditions could be perceived. Deshaus’s recent practice indicates that urban or social considerations do not necessarily need to be overplayed in designs. Instead, it endeavors to define a specific place in cities with such internal elements as structure, space, and etc, expressing urban or social relations or attitudes toward present within architecture itself.
